This Protein Cookie Dough is a simple 5 minute recipe that is packed full of protein and creamy almond butter (and chocolate chips of course!), and is the perfect post-workout bite or on-the-go breakfast.
½cupcreamy almond butter or cashew butteror your favorite nut or seed butter
4tablespoonspure maple syrupor honey or agave syrup
12tablespoonsvanilla protein powder
2-4tablespoonsdairy-free milkor water
¼cupchocolate chips
Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or other nuts or seeds
Instructions
In a small mixing bowl, mix the nut butter and maple syrup until combined.
Add in the protein powder and dairy-free milk, and stir until the protein powder is evenly incorporated.
Stir in the chocolate chips. If desired, stir in the nuts.
If the protein cookie dough is on the softer side, chill in a refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Notes
Because the scoops for protein powders can vary by size, we're using tablespoon measurements to measure the protein powder to ensure your cookie dough is consistent, no matter what protein you use.
We recommend using maple syrup, as it has the best flavor profile in this protein cookie dough. You can use a sugar-free maple flavored syrup, if you like.
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.
To store the Protein Cookie Dough, place the bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
